Oprah Winfrey and the Power of Asking Questions

Most of us, if not all of us know about Oprah Winfrey. She is one of the richest women on the planet and one of the most influential celebrities. She was at one point, the only black billionaire in the world. Her show is one of the longest running and most successful shows ever and has inspired a whole new genre of talk shows around the globe.

Need we go on?

But how did she achieve all of this? One could argue that she made it here by asking questions, which is why we believe that the power of asking questions is truly a great one. Through questions and subsequent raising awareness of relevant issues in the world, you can bring about a positive change. You can bring lasting happiness for a great many humans across the globe – as Oprah did.

The Power of Oprah

Oprah Winfrey wasn’t always where she is now. She had to get to this point, and she had to go through many hardships to achieve what she achieved. She even had many problems early on, including life in poverty, sexual abuse, failures, and more.

But as she says: “Turn your wounds into wisdom.” We can all do that. If she could get through all her hardships and achieve a true story of rags to riches – we all can.

Her most significant success and the one she is recognized for most is arguably her show – The Oprah Winfrey Show. It aired from 1986 to 2011, and it truly transformed television forever

She focused on asking questions in the show, and she managed to transform people’s lives for the better by doing only that. She knew that the right questions could inspire creativity in people, that they can get them to achieve better results, and find connection with others. It’s as if she had a superpower when she asked questions as she managed to help so many people by doing only that.

That’s especially true in the later parts of the show when she moved from many liberal goals to helping people with self-improvement and spirituality. Oprah also published a wide range of books that mostly aimed at getting people to help themselves, like the book The Wisdom of Sundays: Life-Changing Insights from Super Soul Conversations

Spirituality and a healthy diet have been her most essential topics in the later days of her show and still are in her life. She has promoted other peoples’ spiritual books as she knew that all of them could help people achieve better results in life and ultimately become happy individuals.

If you’re looking to change something in your life for the better or become the leader that will help others, let this quote from Oprah inspire you even more: “What I learned at a very early age was that I was responsible for my life. And as I became more spiritually conscious, I learned that we all are responsible for ourselves, that you create your own reality by the way you think and therefore act. You cannot blame apartheid, your parents, your circumstances, because you are not your circumstances. You are your possibilities. If you know that, you can do anything.”
