It is better than you think
During the next World Happiness Fest in March, we will have five days to talk about our future. Each day will have its own topic, but each of those will have something to do with happiness.
Why? Because happiness is something, we all need to uphold. It’s something that every human being on this planet deserve, and we all as the leaders of today and tomorrow have to work together to make this dream a reality.
The World Happiness Agora is one way we believe will get people to think and entice them to action.
We will talk about five distinct topics:
- Future of Health
- Future of Education
- Future of Self-Mastery and Social Development
- Future of Work
- Future of Transformative Technologies
We know that these are the most important things we need to work and strive to make them better in the future. All of these aspects of our lives have the same goal – to give us a better world to live in and to increase the overall happiness of humanity.
In today’s article, we’ll discuss all five, and everything how they can improve in the future through a joint effort of all of us. We will include studies and statistics that clearly show how all of this can make the world a better place.
Future of Health
Many scientists today believe that the future of health lies in happiness. More and more professionals are beginning to understand that happiness plays a fundamental role in our health and that we can’t truly be healthy without being happy.
There’s plenty of research that can support this valid assertion. Positive emotions are known to play an integral role in making you healthier and living longer. Naturally, it’s not all about feelings; you still need to work on lowering your stress, and making an effort to feel happier.
The important thing here is that happiness does influence health, and it’s our and the belief of other professionals and futurists, that doctors need to start monitoring positive emotions in the same way they do with negative ones.
We need to start changing our ways of dealing with people’s’ health because positive people are 47% more likely to eat healthy foods, they are 33% more likely to exercise more, they are less likely to have troubles sleeping, and they can feel less stress as happiness can lower our stress levels.
There are so many ways in which happiness influences our health that it’s mind baffling why we don’t pay more attention to it in our health systems across nations.
Join us in March 2020 where the world-leading futurists and health professionals will discuss the role of happiness in health and how the future of health should look like.
Future of Education
Just as happiness plays a huge role in health, so it does in education. You might be wondering how, but it’s very simple – happier students learn more and learn better, while happier teachers can be much better at their job of shaping the minds of our children.
We all want the teachers to give the children something that will benefit them today and in the future.
We want our children to be happier prepared for life, but the school system usually focuses on achievements, skills, and discipline, and in their effort, they omit to care for the well-being of the students. This gap between what we want for the kids and what the schools are providing has existed for a long time, and one of the few ways it can be solved is through positive education.
Many studies have shown the effects of positive learning, and they have been overwhelmingly positive. However, we have just begun to scratch the surface of how happiness influences education, but the feeling is that the future results will be more positive.
Even though we can’t say for sure how beneficial happiness is to education, we know that it is, and we know that the current system is not good enough for our children because we know how stressed and burned out our children can be.
That’s more than enough of a reason to work towards creating a better system of education that will focus on students’ happiness as much as it focuses on their achievement.
Future of Self-Mastery and Social Development
We all know that knowing yourself is an integral part of our life. We all feel that if we were to truly master ourselves that we’ll end up with more confidence and ability to succeed in life than we could in any other way.
Science is starting to prove this, and that’s what we’ll be discussing at the World Happiness Agora in 2020, as many other futurists and us believe that self-mastery and social development are essential parts of creating a better world for humanity.
Self-awareness can lead us to a better understating of what we are capable of doing, and only then can we lay a path for ourselves that will lead us to what we want in life. By knowing what we can and can’t do, we can then plan everything well and succeed at it because we will have no obstacles which we can’t overcome.
It’s easy to underestimate all of these effects of self-knowledge, especially those who don’t wholly know themselves. But we all need to work on mastering ourselves if we want to become better people, more successful in life, and only then will we be able to lead others towards the same goal.
Future of Work
A lot of research has been about the effects happiness plays at work and the productivity of workers.
Happiness at work is something that more and more companies are starting to recognize, especially startups and businesses that employ a lot of millennials and other younger people.
They are doing this because they can’t ignore the research and because they see that happiness creates better employees and increases company revenues.
What are the numbers?
- Happier employees increase overall business revenues by 10 to 16%.
- Happy employees are up to 20% more productive than unhappy ones.
- People with best friends at work are seven times more likely to be fully engaged when working.
- Happy salespeople make 37% more sales.
- 36% of employees say that they would give up $5,000 per year in salary if that were to lead them to be happier at their workplace.
- Happier employees take ten times fewer sick days than others.
- Only 42% of employees feel happy with the rewards and recognition they get at their work.
These numbers paint an interesting picture – happiness at work matters a lot more than many would think, and in more ways, than you would believe.
If you are a business owner, you should work towards creating a happier workplace and happier workforce as your business will only get better as a result.
Additionally, make sure to join us at the next World Happiness Agora where we’ll discuss the future of work and the role of happiness at the workplace.
Future of Transformative Technologies
Last but not least, we know that technology today plays a massive role in our happiness and we can use it to improve the world in many ways.
That’s why we are going to discuss transformative technologies at the World Happiness Agora once again. These technologies aim to enrich the lives of humans, and there are plenty of devices and services that look to achieve precisely that.
At the next Agora, we’ll talk about the ones that already exist and are working towards making a better world, in their own way, no matter how little or big that way might be. Plenty of wearables fit into this category and assistants like Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s continuously improving assistant.
The tech of tomorrow will transform our lives even more, and many futurists and experts are working on making that tech. Personalized AI will make our lives better in so many ways; the technology that will track our health and mental well-being, neurostimulation, and much more.
We know that there’s barely any limit to where technology will go, but all the leaders in this field need to work towards making something that will turn the world into a better place for everyone.
The Bottom Line
Everything we just discussed will be further elaborated on at the next World Happiness Fest where we will once again work together to create a happier globe.
We know that the previous Fest was hugely successful and connected a vast number of experts, leaders, futurists, and thousands of other people who want to live in a better and happier world and who want to do something that will bring this dream closer to reality.
The next World Happiness Week will be even more substantial and hopefully connect even more people than the previous one. We are working hard on preparing it, and we hope to see you all with us from March 17th to March 22nd!
